Written works
It took me a while to decide what exactly I would place on this page. At first I had my literary essays along with opinion pieces and fictional works displayed here, no matter the length or topic. However, after careful assessment I realize that many of my regular blog entries ended up being “opinion pieces” after all. Thus, the only things that I will be placing here are literary analyses, rhetorical essays, personal essays (of the college-application type), and long sets of poetry. And of course, I’ll only be picking and choosing the ones of top caliber and considerable length. Latest on top.
Literary Analyses:
- Flight from Guilt: Tom of The Glass Menagerie (senior paper)
- L’amour impossible et Apollinaire (senior year French literary analysis)
- Moderato Cantabile (senior year French literary analysis)
- Mother-daughter Relationships in Amy Tan’s Novels (senior paper)
- The 1930’s Diary of Mildred Alice Evangel (sophomore project)
Rhetorical Works:
- Tribute to Chinese Dance (letter of rec.)
- RE: Chance Threads (forum post)
- Breaking Free of Identity (SAT essay)
- Esperanto: an artificial language (junior research paper)
- Travail d’Equipe (junior year French essay)
- also, feel free to explore the “Rhetoric” category for many other in-depth advocations
Personal Essays:
- The Fusion of Music & Dance (21M.030 paper #1)
- Letter to future AP Biology students (May 2008)
- Letter to MIT (January 2008)
- Life is a Masquerade (college app)
- Physics (college app)
- My Disease (unpublished)
Poetry and prose:
- Of the Fading Sunset (July 2008)
- Sonnet to Silence (April 2008)
