So on our way out of Canada, we dropped by Chinatown and walked around. In the same store where I bought my pink and white Beijing 2008 shirts with the Fuwa on it, I spotted a beautiful Mahjong set. My brother and I immediately begged my parents to purchase it, and they happily agreed. We spent a few of the subsequent nights playing (although we struggled a bit with betting and such). Unfortunately my family took the set home with them, but I hope they continue to practice so that when I come home for the holidays we can play some more =D
… I wonder if anyone here at MIT plays Mahjong. Surely there HAS to be someone - our freshman class is 25% Asian! =P

Well, thanks to my long vacation, I have indeed crocheted five scarves: a multicoloured one (which I sadly forgot at home), two navy blue ones, a green one, and a crimson one. I would snap a picture but my camera is out of batteries, so you’ll just have to trust me.
By the way, if you’re on the MIT campus and are interested in a cheap but comfy scarf, feel free to comment here or visit me at Next House #402 and I’ll make you one =D

So on my birthday, we went up to NYC and I visit American Girl Place, where I had been wanting to visit ever since I was a young girl of nine years. Most of the visitors were young girls and their mothers, but I didn’t mind at all - standing in the shop made me feel like I had stepped out of my now-18-years-of-age body and back into my 10-year-old mind as I marvelled over the collections of clothes and items. We saw the Circle of Friends show (whose music I can still clearly recall). All in all, a fun experience with my sisters and mother; a chance to be a little girl again before I have to play the part of an adult =)
