Well, my weekend was about as eventful as it could get. I attended the theatre performance by the Fine Arts Academy for children Saturday morning since my siblings were in the cast for one of the skits (Three Stories from Wayside School), and after that I went to Emily’s house to attend a bridal shower for my friend Faith, who’s getting married in three weeks up in Kentucky. Emily’s place is so gorgeous, it makes me look around my house and think, “wow, I live in a trash heap.” Despite not knowing what to expect from this whole bridal shower business, I had fun being with my friends - and the food was awesome too ;D

Sunday, I performed in the Love from China benefit event for the victims of the natural disasters over in East Asia. My sister was the first dance, so I arrived at Barton Creek mall around 1:30pm and stayed there until 6:30pm. For the first two hours I walked around with three younger children in tow to hand out fliers and ask for donations. We were pretty much kicked out of Nordstrom for soliciting, but I played the innocence card pretty well. My performances were at 3:30 and 5:30 respectfully, and I gave my speech after our dance at the 3:30 one. I went pretty well, if I do say so myself, although the formations were all off so I ended up having to move myself around to accomodate the change, as always, seeing as how I’m the only person with a sense of aesthetics in stage weight. Yeah… maybe I am a theatre/dance nerd after all.

There were some really nice performances, and there were some that were kind of… meh. But overall I think we raised quite a bit of money so I was happy to be there to help out. Afterwards, I headed to Trina’s apartment complex for her birthday party. It was -technically- a pool party but I didn’t want to partake in any aquatic recreation at the time, so we all sat there and ate and talked and socialized instead. We ended up being kicked out at 10pm, but for the most part it was fun. There were at least 12 people who arrived (not everyone stayed the full time) so never a boring moment, haha.

This is my official last week of school, and guess what I’m doing all of today? That’s right. Programming for Computer Science. How lovely =)
