#74 - 10 things that matter most to me in life

The problem with life is that sometimes there are -too- many choices and -too- many opportunities, so it gets rather overwhelming and breeds avarice in each of our hearts. I find that the easiest and most effective way to sort out priorities, then, is to strip down my needs and wants in life down to the minimum. In doing so, it should really help me realize what I -truly- care about in life, and what are just random fancies that won’t matter in the long run. The items listed below do not include my friends & family, as I assume that would be a given for anyone asked this question.

#01 - Documenting my life
I really love the idea of writing journal entries (or in this case, a blog) and taking photographs to preserve my thoughts. I don’t know… I just like the idea that in the future I will someday look back on my childhood years and remember all of these memories, good and bad. In addition, having a blog like this let’s everyone else know what’s up in my oh-so-exciting life, haha =D

#02 - Technology
Right. This one should be self-explanatory. All of the major forms of entertainment in my life revolve around some form of technology, whether it be experimenting with my laptop configurations, engaging in web design, audio editing, Photoshopping, or simply lurking in wait for the latest and greatest news on Slashdot. That being said, if there was ever a fire in my house, my laptop is the first item that is travelling with me, along with my palm-sized hard drive.

#03 - Sekai no Melody
My beautiful brainchild; this international singing group has taught me so much about social interaction, leadership, organization skills, audio editing, and everything in between. I have met so many friends via SnM, and whenever a new release comes out, I always feel a sense of pride and happiness at hearing everyone joining talents to create a beautiful work of artistry. I won’t ever shut SnM down no matter how busy I become in the future, so I hope that everyone in it can continue to participate in it and support it <3

#04 - Education
Ah, education. That’s a bit ambiguous, I suppose. My reference points to school itself in addition to constantly feeding my mind new and intellectual information. But seeing as how 25% of your life is spent in an educational facility, I must admit that it IS an integral part of my life, and nerdy as it sounds, I enjoy it. I can’t wait to arrive at MIT next year; I just -know- I’ll have a kickass time there, and I’m totally ready to tackle any challenge the Institute decides to toss my way.

#05 - Fine arts
I figure it’s fine to lump them all together under “fine arts” - this includes dance (performance, choreography, watching), music (instruments, singing, listening to), theatre (watching, performing, scriptwriting), graphic design, web design.. yeah. These are my hobbies. I don’t know what I’d do if I suddenly became crippled and couldn’t dance anymore, or if I lost my hearing and couldn’t listen to music, or if I became mute and couldn’t speak or sing, or lost my sight and couldn’t design. I think a loss of any of my senses would throw me into depression, but.. it’s best not to think so pessimistically, right?

… okay, so I failed at this activity because I can’t seem to reach 10 items, but I guess that just shows how incredibly minimalist I am, haha. If you wanted to make me sink into the depths of depression, attempt to take away any of the above items from me and you’ll succeed.
