#17 - Abolish Windows from my Pavilion
Well, going along with #16, today was the fateful day that I decided to completely remove Windows Vista from my HP Pavilion laptop and install sidux in it’s place.
There you go. It’s gone, I’m free ;) On the contrary, now I actually have to go and put some thought into making things work. Well… no not really. Everything’s working pretty fine with a simple install. I just need to
- Figure out how to get my bluetooth headset working
- Install [nicer] fonts, including webfonts that I need for design/development
- Make the graphical interface -appear- to run faster..? If possible, that is… I don’t know about you, but I feel sluggishness and I’d much rather not
- Transfer stuff over from my external hard drive so I can actually work on things
- Figure out why Iceweasel breaks when you zoom in/out
- Figure out how to increase my screen resolution past 1280×800 (still too small)
- Configure the backspace key to equal the back button
That’s about it on my end. I think to celebrate I’m going to go read something fun, or something. I don’t know. It’ll take some getting used to, I suppose. But what’s the worst that can happen, right?
